In a live setting the 'proper' way to play the piece is to repeat each of the 4 sections until a majority of the audience raise their hands to say they're ready to move on to the next part.

This is a simple extrapolation of the ideas behind Terry Riley's "In C," John Zorn's game pieces, and John Cage's chance music. But instead of allowing classical musicians to decide how many times to repeat a phrase (In C), or providing a set of rules for free-jazz players to coordinate and compete (game pieces), or using chance to compose (chance music), the idea is to give the audience a say in how a piece is played.
